I got a call yesterday from a very well known seasoned Manalapan agent from another company. I have never actually had a deal with her but at one point I had clients who were very interested in one of her listings in Marlboro and we seemed to be on the phone 10 times a day. My clients had a lot of questions and she was very accomodating. My clients offered a ridiculous amount to start and when we finally came to terms with her sellers and they agreed to a price, my clients got cold feet and pulled out. It was frustrating to say the least. She totally understood and didn't give me a hard time. This happened well over a year ago.
She called me to ask me about a yearlong ad that I had run in the lobby of a local establishment. She was apologetic for asking but she wanted to know if I thought that it was worth the investment. Did I get any new business from it? Of course, I told her that I had gotten absolutely nothing from it. She said, "See, I knew I could trust you and you would tell me the truth." She then told me if I ever needed her for anything or any advice to please ask and she will return the favor.
Reputation is everything. I have never had a problem with agents that others find so hard to work with. I am always helpful and try my best to make things work. After all, if we don't get something together, we don't get paid! I felt very proud that this agent called me for my opinion and trusted my answer. She knew that I was telling her the truth.
Now, I would love to sell one of her listings. I know it would be a "Smooth Sale"
